Sunday night (Feb. 22) marked the end of the line for one of television's most beloved and decorated comedies. Monday night (Feb. 23) marked the end of the line for one of television's most reviled reality shows, an effort that seems as likely to earn Emmy nominations for FOX as "Luis."

Both finales drew huge audiences, though the resolution of FOX's "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance" pulled in nearly twice as many viewers as the last episode of HBO's "Sex and the City."

It seems probable that viewers had a deeper emotional investment in the end of "Sex and the City," which came on the same night that the series captured a Screen Actors Guild Award for best ensemble comedy series. Roughly 10.6 million fans tuned in to watch Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) choose Mr. Big and the Big Apple, well above the show's season average.

Actually, the 10.6 million viewers was the show's largest audience ever, topping the 7.9 million viewers who tuned in to the fifth season premiere. From 9-9:45 p.m., "Sex and the City" helped HBO top the major networks in many key demographic categories, including viewers 18-34.

The conclusion of "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance" drew nearly 21 million viewers for its final humiliating twists and turns. FOX boasts that the episode was the season's most watched reality finale, topping last gasps of "Survivor: Pearl Islands," "Average Joe" and the most recent installment of "The Bachelor."
